CONTRIBUTION GUIDELINES


-All checks should be made payable to: Polk Citizens for Good Government.

-All donors should provide the information requested on the “Contribution Form”.  Everyone must provide their name and address.  Individuals must provide their occupation; companies must list what type of business they are.

-Contributions amounts are NOT limited by law.

-The Polk Citizens for Good Government can accept contributions from corporations, partnerships, and various other forms of business organizations as well as individuals.

-There are two types of “PAC’s” in Florida.  Here are the restrictions on what they can do:

-For a Committee of Continuous Existence (CCE): A CCE may only contribute up to 25% of its annual income reported on the annual report filed from the previous year to any issue campaigns in the 2004 Election Year.

-For a Political Committee (PC): A PC has no limits on how much they can contribute.

-Contributions are NOT tax-deductible.

-The campaign will file regular contribution and expenditure reports as required by law with the County.

-A person cannot make, solicit, or knowingly accept any political contribution in a building owned by a government entity.

-A person or organization may not give a contribution under some other person’s name or reimburse anyone for a contribution to the campaign.
